We work with numerous healers across Ecuador, depending on the retreat you choose. Not all of the below healers will be leading your ceremony or retreat. On every retreat page, you will find specific information about the healers that will be working with you and serving the medicine.
Our team
Rosa Utitiaj Sechanua
Medicine woman, Shuar indigenous tribe
Rosa, a 52 year old grandmother and medicine woman, is a representative of the Shuar indigenous nationality of the Ecuadorian Amazon. We are honored to learn from her and receive her medicine during retreats and ceremonies. She shares her songs and rituals, including an ancestral woman’s rite of passage ritual, transmitted from generation to generation in a matrilineal way.
To share with Rosa, come to the upcoming Women’s Healing Retreat 2023!
Paulina Quilla Pakari -Tsunkinua
Medicine woman, therapist
Paulina, 39 years old, is an Ecuadorian medicine woman dedicated to supporting others in their healing journey. She has worked with plant medicine for more 20 years.
She was adopted by the original peoples of Shuar nationality (indigenous tribe in the Amazon); their elders gave her the blessing to continue her calling as a healer. She has also shared with and learned from the Shipibo in Peru and the Piaroa in Venezuela. She is an advocate for feminine collectives, an artist, and investigator of ancestral songs and chants.
To receive Paulina’s magical, loving medicine, (ayahuasca), join a private ayahuasca therapy retreat or a short, 2 day ayahuasca retreat near Quito.
Sandra Elena ten Zijthoff
co-founder & director
Ayahuasca has had a profound effect on who I am today. After benefitting from this medicine over the course of many years, I had a desire to share it with others and continue learning about ancestral medicine. I began discussing a new project with the shamans and teachers that had helped me: creating a platform to connect people to competent and trustworthy healers in Ecuador (and beyond) so others can be healed through Ayahuasca and other sacred, medicinal plants. And here we are 🙂
Though I do not serve medicine myself (and don’t intend to), I am often supporting in ceremonies through translation and music. You will see me most often at the private ayahuasca therapy retreats, which take place near my home .
